Computer Purchasing and Eligibility Requirements

Certain items on the UC Davis Stores' website have restrictions on who can purchase them due to campus/manufacturer academic discounts and requirements. Generally they are the same items as the retail version, with a notice that they are for academic use only. Purchases must be for personal, educational or research use only and not for resale. In order to purchase these items we must be able to verify that you meet the manufacturer or software publisher's requirements.

Proof of eligibility can be submitted via email (please include your web order id in the email subject) or by regular mail:

Generally, eligible purchasers are:

  1. Full-time, Part-time, or Extension Faculty and Staff of a higher education institution.
    Proof of eligibility can be:
    1. Faculty ID or Employee ID
    2. Paystub
    3. Letter from School
    4. Employment Contract plus Photo ID
  2. Full-time and Part-time currently enrolled students at a higher education institution.
    Proof of eligibility can be:
    1. Student ID
    2. Tuition Receipt
    3. Course Schedule plus Photo ID
    4. Letter from School (i.e. Acceptance Letter) plus Photo ID
  3. Full-time and Part-time currently enrolled students at UC Extension.
    Proof of eligibility can be:
    1. Course Schedule AND Proof of Enrollment
    2. Application fee confirmation during the period of your session.
      1. If you need a duplicate confirmation, call the Registration Office toll free at (800) 752-0881.

There is also a limit of three desktops and three laptops per year for Apple systems.
